Sakura Theme for Ghostty

The Codigrate Sakura theme for Ghostty. Preview the screenshot and the palette, then get it in a few steps.

Inspired by cherry blossom season and the quiet gardens beneath it, this theme pairs pale petal backgrounds with deep rose and plum accents to create a soft and unhurried coding environment. Light, gentle surfaces keep the editor calm, while muted greens and clear sky blues add balance and focus to key syntax elements.

A light theme from the Codigrate Nature collection, released 2023-10-17. Tags: Pastel, Soft, Elegant.

Getting started on Ghostty

  1. Download the theme with the Download button. It is one file named after the theme, for example Codigrate London; keep the name as is.
  2. Move the file into your Ghostty themes folder, ~/.config/ghostty/themes/ ( the same path on macOS and Linux ). If the folder is not there yet, create it in a terminal: mkdir -p ~/.config/ghostty/themes ( on a Mac, Shift+Cmd+G in Finder takes you to the path ).
  3. Open your Ghostty config: in Ghostty press Cmd+, ( Ctrl+, on Linux ), and the config file opens in your editor ( Ghostty creates it if you have none yet ). Add a line: theme = Codigrate London ( the file name ).
  4. Save, then press Shift+Cmd+, ( Ctrl+Shift+, on Linux ) in Ghostty to reload the config, and the theme is applied.

  • Anatomy of a Light Theme: Sakura: Anatomy of Sakura, a light IDE theme: blossom white and petal pink backgrounds, a deep cherry foreground, and syntax in rose, garden green and sky blue.
  • HWB: Pick a Hue, Add White, Add Black: HWB reads like a mixing recipe: a hue, some white, some black. How sakura pink falls out of a rose hue drowned in white, and where hwb() works in CSS.
